LHSFNA OSH Director to Advise NIOSH
At the suggestion of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Julie L. Gerberding, Scott Schneider has been added to NIOSH's Board of Scientific Counselors.
The Board's responsibility is to provide guidance to NIOSH on research and prevention programs, specifically in regard to its development and evaluation of hypotheses, its documentation of findings and the dissemination of results. The Board also assesses the degree to which NIOSH activities conform to scientific standards, address relevant needs and produce intended results.
Schneider, who is the LHSFNA's Occupational Safety and Health Division Director, will attend his first Board meeting on March 23.
