LIUNA’s collaborative labor-management strategy to build market share for Laborers will get another boost at next year’s annual Tri-Fund Conference now set for February 13-17 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles.
“LIUNA’s strategy is a win-win solution for Laborers and union contractors,” says Noel C. Borck, Executive Vice President of the NEA – The Association of Union Contractors and Management Co-Chairman of the LHSFNA. “However, more can be done to spread the message throughout the industry. Broadening attendance at the annual Tri-Fund Conference is one way to help do this.”
LIUNA signatory employers, company safety directors, LIUNA business managers and agents and LIUNA health and welfare fund trustees and administrators should plan to attend.
The conference provides an excellent opportunity to network with professional peers and to meet new faces. Through a series of workshops and breakouts planned and presented by each fund, it promotes the latest insight of the Laborers-AGC Education and Training Fund, the Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust (LECET), the Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund of North America (LHSFNA) and the Canadian Tri-Fund.
The conference also will feature the second annual LIUNA Charitable Golf Tournament, organized by the LIUNA Charitable Foundation. The tournament raises money for medical research into health concerns particular to Laborers and their families.
The 2004 conference took place last January at the Disney Yacht and Beach Resort in Orlando.
The LHSFNA presented workshops on Controlling Health Care Costs and How to Use Health and Safety to Increase Market Share. The Fund also did breakouts on Roadway Safety and Stress Management.
Other workshops were presented on Increase Market Share or Die
