Occupational Safety and Health

The Occupational Safety and Health Division helps protect the health and safety of Laborers on the job while enhancing productivity for LIUNA signatory employers. Staff provide a variety of services, including:

• Performing jobsite safety consultations to identify hazards and recommend solutions
• Developing site- and company-specific safety programs to ensure worker safety and help signatory contractors meet bid specifications
• Advocating for the joint interests of LIUNA members and signatory contractors to OSHA, FHWA, EPA, NIOSH and other agencies
• Advancing partnerships with unions, trade associations and regulatory agencies to implement programs that address mutual health and safety concerns
