Mother’s Day kicks off the ninth annual National Women’s Health Week. From May 11th to May 17th, the Laborers’ Health and Safety Fund of North America encourages women to take part in this nationwide health focus. With a few simple steps, you can live a longer, healthier and happier life. The theme this year is “It’s Your Time: Get Inspired. Get Healthy.”
The road toward better health begins with an annual visit to your doctor. May 12th is National Women’s Check-Up Day, so make an appointment to see your primary care physician. Also, the LHSFNA urges all members to exercise, eat right and quit bad habits such as smoking.
National Women’s Health Week has events across America. Go to WomensHealth.gov for more information and a list of activities in your community.
