The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the National Hearing Conservation Association (NHCA) are accepting nominees for the second annual Safe-in-Sound Excellence in Hearing Loss Prevention Awards. Organizations with programs proven to reduce occupational noise are encouraged to submit their programs for consideration.
The Safe-in-Sound award is given in three sectors: construction, manufacturing and service. A fourth award is for “innovation” in hearing loss prevention, showcasing particularly unique programs. The 2009 recipients were awarded during the 34th Annual Hearing Conservation Conference in February.
The deadline for nominations for the 2010 awards is August 1, 2009. For further information, please visit www.safeinsound.us or review last year’s story in LIFELINES ONLINE: Keeping the Worksite ‘Safe in Sound’.
